I'm trying to use a Social Security estimator,
and I get a message telling me - I need a more recent
version of "Microsoft Virtual Machine" and to go to the
Microsoft Download Center. When I get there, I cannot
find any reference for the Microsoft Virtual Machine.
What is it, and how do I find it? Any help is
appreciated.

Perform the following:

Download & install MS Virtual Machine Build 3805.
Then visit the Windows Update website to obtain the
security updated version (Build 3810).

It is the Microsoft version of support for 'Java' - under a court ruling
in the dispute with Sun, MS may no longer provide it as a fresh
download. Provided you have some earlier version (if you Start - Run -
WJVIEW and it works then you have one), go and get critical security
update 816093 for Virtual machine, which is in effect a complete
replacement. If you do not, You can still get a 3805 or 3809 build from
some sites that are *not* MSoft sites - and MSoft is not going to
object.
eg 3805 from Http://www.bigblackglasses.com/staff/downloads/msjavx86.exe

Once you have such an older version you can get the 816093 update
