Office XP can be run in Ubuntu.

But who on earth would want to use Ubuntu? Nobody. Remember, Ubuntu is
FREE and NOBODY wants it. That means Ubuntu is just a piece of shit that is
thrown together so social retards like Alias and Adam can play.

Your message could be here said:
You are talking bullshit again buddy.

Alias always talks bullshit. He doesn't know any better. Want to hear
something funny? Alias says he owns 3 companies, yet he has time to post
crap all day and every day. What that really says is, Alias is confined to
an institution with delusions of companies dancing in his empty head.

Alias can't afford Vista and Alias probably can't afford to purchase food
for the day. We believe that Alias lives on a Sheep farm run by the
Government of Spain to keep him away from society.

5. I am handicapped and I cannot work...that is no one problem according
to
your staff from overseas who are insensitive and rude. They treat people
like crap and we are suppose to tolerate it and pay for it at the same
time.

That's not the case. What's the support incident number (SRX)? Tech
support can be challenging and frustrating, but there's never a need to be
rude to anyone. Happily for you, the incident number you have enables me or
others to look up that particular interaction and potentially forward to
appropriate management to take action.

So: what is that number?
7. My office Pro xp stopped working yesterday for the third time. Had to
reinstall it again. How many more times will this happen with Vista?

You did not mention in what fashion your Office Pro XP stopped working.
What was that, and is reinstalling the recommended fix?

HA HA - Did you see the results? Ubuntu isn't worth a shit anyway. It is
just a TOY OS that geeks use who can't get laid.

Not spam but an intelligent suggestion.

And you think Frankfurter-boi can understand an intelligent suggestion ?

Did you know Frank was rushed to the hospital the other night ?

Yeah, his sack blew up to the size of a watermelon.

Geez, you'd think he'd know better than to keep his sheep on an all-bean
diet.

No suggestions, eh? Just like always, you have no suggestions, only
lies, insults, profanity, weird sexual fantasies and bluster.

Did you expect anything less ? (Or more actually)

No. Since you don't have the ability to comprehend what you read, I will
answer your question very simply.

Umm, dude... that web page describes installing redhat 4.0 in 2001. The only
know issue with installing a current linux on Acers (remember, acer itself sells a linux
based laptop) is that the winmodems (software based modems) sometimes dont' work
because manfacturers won't release chipset specs.

Personally I have more trouble with windows installs on laptops. At least
linux gives you more information about unsupported devices than a yellow question
mark and an unknown device error.

Check out the upyourbuttu support site at
http://ubuntuforums.org/search.php?searchid=43495623

Nothing but problems.

That's the fallacy of the biased sample, otherwise known as
a hasty generalization. Naturally, a tech support forum will be full
of people with problems. It's no different that trying to claim that vista
is a steaming pile because, say, all of the people in microsoft.vista.broke
are having some kind of stupid incompatibility introduced by the vendor's
need to drive an upgrade market by making regular unnecessary changes to
system internals.

Now run along and click your litle desktop, sonny.

Okay, there are two responses to your problem worth listening to, from
Mike Hall and ZachD. Well 3 if you include mine which I hope you do.

Only ZachD can look up your incident report, and then only if you
provide the number he asked you for, please do so it will be in your
best interests.

Microsoft are not really responsible if you bought a system
pre-installed by Acer. Acer are responsible, Best Buy are just cheap
machine peddlers with a technical skill level far below zero. People
here however will try to help you out for free - your investment will
amount to patience and some trial and error. However there ARE some
issues we ALL feel that Microsoft "Should" address and most here are
honest enough to admit that.

So Mike already suggested "Open Office" which is free - and works well.
What else do you want your computer to be able to do? If you can explain
what you need the community here will try to find your best way to
achieve that.

It is no use complaining here to Bill Gates - he is not here - and
especially do not listen to the argumentative idiots who insist that
your problems are somehow due to your being stupid, they do not help
you, Microsoft or anyone else, they exist simply for their own
appeasement and gratification. They also know who they are and who I
refer to. If they choose to respond to this you will of course know who
they are too :)

So you tell us what specific problems you have had, what you want to be
able to do and some detail about the system you bought. Also mention any
software that came with it, such as anti virus programs and things.

English muffin, you are now the traffic cop in the NG? You should make

For reference, when the Module Name is a third party DLL, that's usually a
really easy crash to solve too - for anyone. (For example, I was reading a
crash report yesterday from someone crashing in "AlbumArt3d.dll" - pretty
easy to guess what might be crashing there.) If it's a Microsoft DLL (or
StackHash or unknown or etc), then it can get more complicated to track down
since it's often a crash as a random DLL is freeing or accessing invalid
memory, but generally just the basic fault data can actually be interesting
to most people. And if you load up WinDBG (Windows Debugging SDK) with a
crash DMP to look at, you can usually get pretty close to a solution on most
crashes.

Peace,
-Zach

Well I am not sure if the OP in this case will respond or not, but
thanks for the explanation.

I get the impression the OP has numerous problems not really related to
software, rather with their treatment by vendors :)
