If using Windows XP Home Edition, don't try to auto-login as built-in
Administrator. Use these steps to setup and automatic logon.
Click Start, Run and type CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2, and click Ok. Select the
user account from the list (to which account you want to automatically
logon). Uncheck Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer option, and click Ok. Type the user account password and complete
the process.

It seemed like it was going to do the trick, but then it gave a Logon
Message
that said "Unable to log you on because of an account restriction. But I
noticed it broght up a logon box that had Administator as the user instead
of
my screen name prior to the displaying of the error message. Upon clicking
the ok bos in the error window then it takes you back to the welcome screen
and I still have to click my name for windows to start. Is there a possible
other step to make my user name the start up profile instead of the default
backup of Administrator? Thanks for the help I don't mean to have attidude
as
the other reply post stated, it is frustration not attitude, Knowledge is
power and the lack there of is quite frustrating when your searches seem
futile due to looking in the wrong places or with the wrong search
parameters, which is what I obviously was doing.
