What hardware changes are ok ?

Dave

I've noticed in other posts it is supposedly ok to replace
the hard drive, re-install XP and still be able to re-
activate.

1. I would like to upgrade to a larger hard drive. Is the
above really true ?

2. Where is it documented just what parts of my computer I
can tinker with ? I would like to upgrade memory and add a
pc card device. OK for reactivation ? How about a new
monitor ?

Dave;
There is no problem replacing the hard drive or any other component.
You can install and activate Windows XP an unlimited number of times
on a single computer.
A 5 minute phone call to Microsoft may be necessary.
If so, the appropriate number for your region will be displayed on the
screen.

You may have problems with some components if Windows XP is OEM and
came with the computer.
In this case, the only problem is normally the motherboard.
