What happens to network files when deleted

Hi,

I have a W2k file server. Can anyone tell me what happens
to the files that network users delete from their folder
on the file server? I realize that they do not go to
their recycle bin on their workstations, neither do they
appear in the recycle bin on the desktop of the file
server, so where are the deleted files, and how can I get
rid of them? Thanks.

Files deleted from a network share don't go to any recycle bin and are
effectively gone immediately, so there's nothing to clean up manually.

The space the files occupied is marked as available for use at the time
you "delete" the file. The old or deleted data will be overwitten by new
files as they are saved to the server.
