what happened to windows folders in outlook 2007

In earlier additions of outlook, with XP, it was possible to display windows
folders in the navigation pane, along with outlook folders, you could save
email messages as rtf files .... Is there a way to do something like that in
Outlook 2007, Vista Home premium?

No. That feature was removed starting with Outlook 2003.
