I just went from Office 97 to 2003 and Paste Special under the Edit menu is
gone. I used to use Paste Special to paste as bitmap. If this functionality
is gone and there is no other way then I am going back to Office 97.

Some body help please

I believe is was PowerPoint 2002 that introduced the very annoying
feature of shy menus (there's an official name for it, but it escapes me
at the moment). In the menus, they only show you what they think you want
to see (which will include things that you have used recently). At the
bottom of each menu, you will see a little arrow-like icon. If you bring
the mouse down to that icon, you will see all the options in that menu.

A better solution is to turn off this annoying feature. Go to the Tools
menu and choose Customize. Click on the Options tab. Check the box for
Always show full menus. You will be a much happier person (until you bump
into the next annoying feature).

Paste Special is still there in the Edit menu.

I suspect you have the "short" menu default still set. To see all the menu
options, either click the downward-pointing chevron at the bottom of the
menu, or use Tools/Customize and on the Options tab, select "always show
full menus."

"Mistake"

First perpetrated in 2000

Since you handled the rest so well, it makes me happy to have been able to help
with this small piece of the puzzle.
