Pasting Excel Worksheet Object into PPT

Hi there,
My PPT presentation has a dark blue template and when I paste from Excel
using the Worksheet Object option, nothing shows up in PPT. If I paste as
bitmap, or just paste (not paste special) it's OK, but not if I use the
Worksheet Object.

I don't know why this isn't working but am wondering if it has something to
do with the option being named "Microsoft Office Excel 2003 Worksheet Object"
- I'm pasting from Excel 2007. Am I being too literal? Does it have something
to do with the colour of the template?

I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer - I am vexed and really don't want
to have to re-do the whole presentation!

The paste special should be working. If you are using Excel 2007, in the
paste special box, there should only be an option to paste a 'Microsoft
Office Excel Workshet Object', not an option for a Excel 2003 object. The
color backgroud does not affect the past unless the text color in excel is
the same as the background. Try running a Microsoft Office Diagnostics in teh
Excel Options window under the Resources group.
