WHAT HAPPENED TO MY ICONS?

I had my resolution at 1440 900 and resized it to get a larger screen and bam
when i switched back many of my icons and files i had on my desktop are now
gone! I can't find them anywhere now

If you lowered the screen resolution, they may be off-screen.
Right-click the Desktop, click "Arrange Icons By", "Auto Arrange", and
see if they are brought back on-screen.
