what happened to my database "Design Master"?

Ok I'm a simpleton, I just wanted a simple little database for my movie
collection. I got it set up and all my data entered then moved the file to an
external backup drive and copied it to my briefcases. Later I wanted to
change the design a little bit but all these files are "Replicas" and I don't
know how to find the "Design Master" since it's not the original file I moved
back then. How can that be? I'm the only one using any of this, I don't need
all this security I can't even understand.

1. Use the Menu Command Tools / Replication / Synchronise Now ... (but
don't go through the synch. process). The dialog box may show you the
correct path to the Design Master.

2. You can re-create the Design Master from a Replica ... You can also
convert a replicated database back to a normal database. Check Access Help
on these topics.

Check Access Help on these topics.

And if you want to use the Briefcase to transfer MDB files back and
forth between computers, run the Microsoft Installer and remove the
Briefcase Replication support under the Access installation section.
If that's not installed, your MDB won't be replicated when you use
the Briefcase.
