What CD are you talking about? Did a drivers CD come with it? What is the
make/model of the computer or the motherboard if it's a custom built
machine? Who did you get it from? What do you mean by new? New to you or
new as in just built? If just built who built it? Check on the computer
manufacturer's web site or the motherboard manufacturer's web site for the
needed drivers. Also if there are any retail hardware devices such as video
card and sound card go to the card manufacturer's web site to get the latest
driver.

The CD usually has an installer program to help you with this. It may be
based on an HTML file.

Consult the motherboard manufacturer's website. If you don't know the
motherboard model, you can either open the case and look for the model
number - it's normally silkscreened on the surface somewhere, as the largest
lettering - or use something like Belarc Advisor to show the hardware.

You probably don't have the drivers to dowload that from the PC, so get it
on another system and carry it over on some sort of disk. It fits on a
floppy.

Once you know the motherboard model, the maker's support pages should lead
you to identifying which drivers are which. You can, for example, choose
the chipset you have, then start the download, and check the filename listed
against what's on your CD.
