i have recieved an email with an attachment file which is a wps file (size
105kb) and my computer is saying that it cannot open the file without the
relevant downloads.i need therefore to know which software i will need to
download.
 
If it's a Works file, you'll need Works.

Perhaps you could ask the person who sent it to you to convert it to a file
format you can use.

By the way, your question is off topic for this newsgroup. It's intended for
questions about using queries in Access, the database product that's part of
Office Professional.
