What does Hydravision give me?

It gives you 4 different desktops at the click of a button. On for when
the boss is around, and three for surfing the net. I suppose you could
set one desktop up for every-day use, one for office work, one for
hobbies, and one for your porn collection activities. You get the idea. It
also gives you the ability to extend the taskbar across multiple monitors.
I think that when you click full-screen the programs running stretches
across multiple monitors too.

I loaded it long enough to find it not so useful. Also, WindowBlinds
(which I use) has multiple desktop capability built in, so Hydravision had
nothing to offer me that I already did not use. It's just more overhead
for my processor to run. I hate all the stuff that Windows runs in the
background as it is, I don't want more!

OK, thanks for the info. That's what Nvidia's Nview does too, plus more, so
it is the same kind of app. I downloaded it but not sure if I will ever
install it. Although I do like the idea of having 4 desktops like on Linux.
Microsoft has a free download that does the same but that was for XP and
don't know if it works on Vista64 too.

Have you heard of those '3D cube' desktop utilities, might be worth a
try.

For Linux or Vista? I've used them on Linux (Ubuntu) but found them to be
more of an eye candy gimmick than any real benefit over the 2D switching
method. It was quicker to switch between desktops in 2D than 3D. Are you
saying they have that for Windows too now?
