What do Omega Drivers do? Can anyone confirm that they improve performance?

I don't understand why people are so happy with them.
The tweaks don't work on my machine, they make it slower, the claimed
improvement isn't
visible to me (i use normal drivers set on high quality) and for me they
appear to be
less stable.
What do others think that this drivers add, or what am i doing wrong?
I've read the recommended bios settings and removed all other tweakers. In
fact, i
even tried them on a clean installed windows XP, and no luck.
Till now, i've never had anyproblems with the standard catalyst drivers from
ati.
I'd stick to them.
