What do i need ?

i'm new here and am just wondering if anyone can help me out?

I have a philips iqon desktop pc that i recently had reformatted by a mate but since it came back it seems too crash alot or freeze when i open too many web pages up ie about 5 or i cant run many programs at once ie msn and poker. I have been told this could be too do with space or memory.. Has any got any idea's what the problem could be. i know i havent got a virus as i have checked and have cleared the spyware i did have..

I'm running windows xp home edition 2002 on service pack 3 and am using btbroadband. I will try and supply as much information as i can.

I have tried to give as much detail as i can i hope you can help if i can supply more please ask and tell me how to find out as i am abit of an amateur with pc's..

definitely need more RAM, stick in 1GB and it will be much happier
