I just finsihed some testing on my system with Doom3. I have to throw in
that 1GB of ram does help loading speed and texture maps, as Doom3 tells
you that in Ultimate mode just the textures take 512Mb of ram. Other than
that looks good.

The config looks ok, but due to the higher power requirements, you could
experience some random reboots of you PC in future. If this occurs, you will
have to check and eventually replace the PSU with a more powerful unit.

Check your PSU wattage, and case cooling... along with the
former higher current needs comes the latter higher heat to
remove.

512MB is too little for modern games at high detail levels.
It's a start, you can certainly try it and see how it goes
but for most it would be prudent to bump memory to 1GB total
and a few games will do best with even more... up to 1.5GB
would be a round number, and reasonable considering today's
memory pricing.
