Often when typing either a document in Word or an e-mail in outlook express,
certain words have a red dotted line below them. What causes this and how can
I stop this from hapening?

Hi Ricci

The red dotted line is probably marking up a spelling error - don't worry it
doesn't print out with the document.

To stop spelling errors being marked up on screen, go to Tools > Options >
Spelling & Grammar and select Hide spelling errors in this document.
(The wording may be slightly different on your dialog box if you don't use
Word 2000.)

Look at the Word Help topic "What do the underlines in my document mean?"
which explains all the wavy and dotted underlines in various colors.
