I am using outlook 07 with Vista - Every time I startup - I get a message
saying that Outlook was not closed properly. I am closing the Outlook program
before shutting down or putting laptop in sleep mode. How can I resolve this?

After you exit Outlook, check to ensure outlook.exe is not running in the
processes. If it is, end the task. Some things that might hold Outlook open:

AV integrated with Outlook, actively scanning incoming and outgoing email
anti spam software
synch software (for use with a handheld)
FAX software

Here are some troubleshooting tips:

Good luck! Post back and let us know how you made out.

I get that as well (only on Vista).

disable outlook-integrated antivirus
disable add-ons
run scanpst on the pst file(s) until there are no errors
still have the same issue?

How do you run "scanpst"?

Thanks

I go to Start -> Programs -> Microsoft Office -> Microsoft Office Tools
-> Inbox Repair Tool. If you don't have that there, open Windows
Explorer and check folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033\

You need to know the location of your PST file(s).
