What causes corrupted Excel files?

Hello,

I have a user who recently has been saving excel files and then they have
been corrupted. It's not all the time but it does seem a little strange.

I was wondering if someone could suggest what to check for on the users
machine and why excel files get corrupted in the first place.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

have you looked at your previous post?

Scandisk
Doubleclick My Computer
Right click the suspected disk
Tools
Check Now

I have assumed XP. Other Windows versions may differ.
