What can be done and how

A student of mine purchased a Compaq Deskpro P600, PIII computer from a local
business. It has Windows XP Embedded installed. All we have been able to
do is to look at the business information that the company left on the
computer.

Is there a way to eliminate these files and to make the computer function
more like a standard computer that will basically be used for a little word
processing (Notepad) and for playing some games.

Have tried to access the system by logging off while holding the left shift
key down and I get a login screen but no one seems to know the user name or
password or domain.

Any help would be appreciated. Even knowing nothing can be done would be
better than beating my head against the wall like I'm doing at this point
trying to figure this thing out.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Not sure what files you are referring to but obviously you can delete any files from the system as long as you have the right user
admin privileges on the device. Or you can take out the local disk and remove the files offline.

User name and password - you should ask the device manufacturer for those.

Please keep in mind that XP Embedded license prevents using XPe device for general purpose. So the functions you mentioned below
(word processing and gaming) may not be legally allowed for the device. Check it out with the device manufacturer.

Thanks for the information. The license restrictions hadn't been brought up
before. I'll check this out. Perhaps someone has been "taken."
