Can someone help me with this problem please. Whenever I open the windows
update site by going through control panel windows update I get an error
message

WHAIMAGER
Run time error '-2147467259 (800004005)':
Method '~' of object '~' failed

I have not long ago done a sweep of my machine for spyware and quarrantined
some programs. Could I have quarrantined a program that I need?

This is either a virus or your system has been highjacked.

You said ran a sweep of your system for spyware, have you run a virus scan
lately. Make sure you antivirus software is up to date and run a scan.
