A friend of mine got there keyboard wet while there pc was on
would that harm it , and now windows frezzes at windows loading screan
why? What can fix it? I tried taking drivers out and installing a new keyboard
with it's drivers but when pc is turned off then on it frezzes at windows xp
loading screen could getting it wet hurt the keyboard ps/ port hole?

Windows freeezes because the new keyboard is installed with an incompatible
driver, it should be auto-installed by Windows or the old keyboard dried and
re-installed with the driver it had before or auto installed by Windows.
The wet keyboard is not likely to have caused damage to the port and even if
it had a usb keyboard or a USB adapter for the keyboard can be used instead.
Use the old (dried*) or new keyboard but let Windows auto-install it.
* The keyboard can be taken apart and dried with a rag or air dried as keys
stay in place and pose no problem when servicing a keyboard.
As for the integrated circuit inside the keyboard, it may or not have been
damaged but you won't know until you take it apart, removing a few small
screws is all it takes.

Please check Event Viewer for Warning / Error Report in the System log
over the last 2 days and post copies.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools, and
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&sd=tech

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you should
double click for further information. You can copy using copy and paste.
Often the link will, however, say there is no further information.

(Please note the hyperlink above is for illustration purposes only)

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click
on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now
start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This
will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report complete with links
into the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event
Viewer.

I have to ask wet with what? If water then turn it over and let it dry out,
my experience says then it will be ok. If coke (Pepsi, Coca Cola etc) then a
different matter!!!!

Dick.
