Western Digital HD JB 7200 Problem

Hi everyone,

A problem here....

I bought the above mentioned hd about 3 months back.
Recently when i boot up, winxp keeps checkin the F and G drive

i realised that i had proper shut down and nothin was wrong,
furthermore the
disk checkin took a longer time then usual...

two days back i was tryin to move all my data on these 2 partition to
other partition.

Damm....it took a very long time, some files in the recycle bin and
files i was trying to move have give me this error: "data error,
cyclic reducdancy error"
it is sort of a crc error there. (so i guess perhaps a few sectors are
corrupted)
so i guess i lost the data there....

but anyway, i tried to repair the hd. the SMART thing told me my hd is
BAD.
i didnt hear any strange noise from the hd when readin from the two
partition
so i guess it is not a physical failure...

i ve tried to format the partition but its useless...
i ve oso tried checking and repair disc using the winxp check disc
thing: useless
i ve delete both partition and created a new one...but the full format
took a long time.

Any idea whats goin on? do i really have to send this hd for repair?
or is there some way i can magically repair the crc thing?
please anyone enlighten me...Thanks

I'd do a low-level format.
