Weird view of Word documents in Print Layout

J

Jim

Using Office 2007.

I've gotten myself into a weird mode in MS Word where hyper links show up
like "{HYPERLINK http://yadayadayda}" and page numbers appear as "{PAGE}"
rather than as a number when in Print Layout. Figure and table references
also look weird with some kind of internal id number rather than "Figure 2"
or Table 3". Things appear normally when in Full Screen Reading. It happened
a couple of weeks ago when I must have fat fingered something and now I can't
get out of it.

I may not be describing this 100% correctly. I'm going from memory because
the problem is at work where I'm not allowed to get on forums like this.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Jim

Press Alt+F9 to collapse the field codes (what you see) to field results. (It's
a shortcut for going into the options dialog and unchecking the "Show field
codes" box.)
