In XP HOME I have normally got 4 accounts (Including the Guest Account)

When running Norton Internet Security Parental Control Wizard (allows you to
assign different parental controls to each user account) It states that there
are Six.

The normal four users plus two extra:

Daniel
Clare
Jody
Guest
ADMINISTRATOR
ASPNET.

(I may have got spelling wrong of last account)

Why is it there?

And what does it do?

Thank you

Daniel

Its there to allow for proper running of programs that are written in one of the .Net languages.

The account named Administrator is a default account that is hidden when
other user accounts exists. It's handy for troubleshooting purposes. You
have XP Home so to log on to this account, boot to Safe Mode and
Administrator will be listed on that logon screen. Click to select the
account.

NOTE: On most setups where XP was preinstalled, the password for the
Administrator account will be nothing (leave field blank).

Doug has already explained the purpose of the .NET account.
