Hi all, when on a website and there is an email link if I click it I get an
error box saying
'could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not
properly installed'

I have set the default program to open with mail but no joy
I'm using vista ultimate 32bit
TIA

New unique auction were gaming hardware can be bought for as little as a
penny/cent.

For that to work, it normally has to be the installed email program, like
Windows Mail, or Outlook, which is set to be the default email program.

Which email program do you use?

Start>>Default Programs>>Set Program Access and Computer Defaults>>Choose My
current email program>>Check Windows Mail.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that you should reboot.

I did, it's strange it has happened for no reason as I haven't installed
anything before it happened, I use NOD32 and is fully up to date on
definitions and nothing found on the scan, I have ran my spyware prog and
nothing found, I'll do a system restore to see if that sorts it, just
thought it might have been an easy prob to fix without the need to..

Update..the sys restore fixed the problem, I haven't a clue what caused it
but thanks for all your suggestions

I had this same problem after the latest round of Windows Updates. You
need to access the Default Programs control panel and reset your options.

You are very welcome. The major thing is when people get their problems
fixed. Does not matter who helped you. I often post on MSDN and while people
try to help me I find another solution because it stimulates thinking a lot.
