Weird error - cannot open document as Read-Only

Here is the problem - I cannot open word docs from the network as
"Read-only," either from the dialog box or from VBA. It opens
normally no matter what I choose. I can open local documents as read-
only. Any ideas?

I'd check with your IT department, as it appears to be something to do
with how your network is providing the files...

If you are IT :-), then the more specialized word.setup.networking or
office.setup newsgroups might be better places to ask.
