WebVideo Support?

I have reason to believe that this program, WebVideo Support, is some sort of
trojan and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this annoying
bloody program? I have tried multiple times to remove it and I have even run
Ad-Aware and Spy Sweeper, both updated, several times. None of them seem to
respond. I also get this annoying tool bar that appears and says "Your
computer may have a virus on it. Click here to run a free scan." The bar does
NOT go away and I also get random pop-ups that if you try to close they take
over I.E. completely. Help!!!

You need to post to an AV NG, where you're going to find people that have
the know how to help you.

Your computer is infected with a variant of the Smitfraud trojan. Simply
running Ad-aware and Spybot will not clean it.

Do the preparatory steps here:
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Then do the specific removal steps here:
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Smitfraud_Trojan -
Smitfraud, Spyaxe, Spyfalcon

You can also check to see if there are targeted removal steps for your
malware here:
Bleeping Computer removal how-to's -
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum55.html

When all else fails, run HijackThis and post your log in one of the
specialty forums listed at the first link above (not here, please).

Not all tools used will work in Vista and you will need to run them
elevated. Since Vista is so new, it will be a while before removal
techniques and tools are developed. If you are unable to remove the
infection by following the general steps, register at one of the
HijackThis forums as suggested.

Standard caveat: If the procedures look too complex - and there is no
shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a
professional computer repair shop (not your local version of
BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). Please be aware that not all local shops
are skilled at removing malware and even if they are, your computer may
be so infested that Windows will need to be clean-installed. Have all
your data backed up before you take the machine into a shop.

Thank you so much! I did exactly what you said and sure enough, my computer
is now rid of not only the WebVideo Support but two other trojans! I cannot
thank you enough! You saved my school work and my laptop.

This is upsetting, I must be an idiot & not following/understaning
correctly.

1. I backed-up all I neded (mostly family pics)
2. Ran the NAV LiveUpdate
3. Installed & updated Ad-Aware SE & Spybot S&D
4. Rebooted into Safe-Mode
5. Cleared out all Temporary & Temporary IE Files
6. Then tried to scan w/NAV, AD-Aware & Spybot

None of the scans are starting at all. Why?

You've apparently tacked your question at the end of an old, closed
thread. So I don't have the faintest idea if you've got more information
about what infections you think you have. I don't have enough
information to answer your question as to why the scans aren't
starting. In general, if you can't even run antivirus/antimalware tools
your computer is extremely infected. There are still ways to deal with
this but I can't begin to even guide you without knowing more.

You can provide more information and possibly get help here; or take
your machine to a local professional; or wipe the machine and start
over. It's your choice, of course.
