Website opens in bits & pieces, how do I get it to open properly?

I uploaded my website to SBC Yahoo Web Hosting. My navigation does not
display properly and the pages open so slow. Please help.

I'm new at this, I haven't done that many websites yet but did not run into
this problem with the one's I have already uploaded.

1) What do you mean "navigation doesn't display properly"? I see it just
fine.

2) The image on your home page is almost 900 KB...way to big. That is
causing the page to open slow. You need to optimize it so the file size is
smaller.

3) The page opens in bits and pieces because it's loading images one at a
time, which is the way it works.

Thank you, I thought it was just me, I'll optimize (I thought I did but it
was getting late at night, tired I guess).

If I were you I would make that page much narrower.... Your viewers would
appreciate not having to scroll.
