That guy.

I read in a Windows Resource Kit book once that its far easier and quicker
to install from a hard disk. I can't remember if the hard disk was the same
as the install location or another hard drive or partition. Help on
Microsoft's website seems utterly useless. I'm having problems installing
from startup disks and the CD-rom (I've tried 3 different CDrom units to
make sure its not hardware related) so I thought maybe if I could install
from the hard disk it might make things easier.

Copy the i386 directory.

It really doesn't make things easier. What it does do is make the
installation faster. It also has other benefits. But if you are having
trouble installing from 3 different CD-ROM Players then I cast my vote on a
dirty or bum CD-ROM. So putting that on the Hard disk won't solve anything
I assume. The CD-ROM has unreadable sectors. Without an explicit
description of why installing was so "hard" (error messages that kind of
thing) I really can't say more then I've said.
