Wondering if someone could take a peek at the site I created and offer any
elementary advice on making it better? Keep in mind I've only been using FP
2002 for 2 weeks. Since I know about a thimble's worth of FP, I was
conscripted into making a web site.

its a really nicely done page. the one thing taht looks odd in it is the
visitor counter on the bottom left. It looks really kiddy. Things seem to be
in place, but one thing, see if you can make the text on the left hand menu
larger. It will make the menu more visible.
hopefully this helps :-)

Yes, no counter! Also, I can't read the links when I mouse over them. they
change to a dark color.

Pretty sizeable thimble. Good job. My suggestions are really nit-picky.

At the top, pull "RickySpan.com" off the right margin a bit.
Lose all the "under construction" pix. If it's not ready to publish, then don't. I think
people use "under construction" in a vain attempt to try to lure a visitor back later.

On the donations page:
Don't underline text that isn't a link. Pick another way to emphasize it.
There is no PayPal logo

On the in the news page
Make the text links the same color (on all the pages)

On the request info page
Lose "[FrontPage Save Results Component]"

On the gallery page
Caption the photos

Kill the background sound, It takes "forever" to download and play.

forever = 20 seconds on DSL

The reason it does work is that the JavaScript function must be include in all page using the shared
border, as the only the content that is between the <body>.....</body> tags of the shared border
page is included in other pages.

So does that mean it won't work....

or, if I include the same Javascript that is in the left.htm page in the
index page it WILL work?

Thanks,
W

It means that you have include the JavaScript in the head section of all page using the specific
shared border.

Since you have rollover at the top of the page and you are adding the sidebar rollover, you must
assign different IDs to the rollover in the left shared border page, and also make the URL absolute,

There was background sound? Not in Firefox. Lesson for OP & me: Check in more than one
browser.
