NVU is the best thing out there for straightforward WYSIWYG web
building. It's the only one that has an explicit commitment to
producing clean, valid (X)HTML code. Others (most notably FrontPage)
are known for producing a lot of cruft in their HTML output.

If you ever find yourself needing more than NVU can provide, learn
some HTML/CSS and start hand-coding.

Wald

in addition:
NVU has a good site-management: double-click opens a web-page
has an inline-FTP-client
tabbed-browsing to better navigate through many open pages
very fine table-handling
