Website blocking

I want windows XP to block access to a certain number of websites. However,
in XP security, it seems that the way to do this is to tell it what sites you
want to allow. I want to allow a whole lot more than I want to block, so to
compile an "always allow list" would take forever. Does anybody know a way
of simply telling XP what sites I want it to block, rather than the other way
around? If not, what alternatives are there? Thanks.

Add the sites you wish to block to your "hosts" file.

In folder options click on show hidden files and folders.
Right click on start select "explore" scroll down to windows and open it
then scroll to system32 and open, scroll to "drivers" and open click on ETC
this will show you your hosts file open it with notepad.
This is your computer DO NOT modify this entry.
127.0.0.1 local host

To add an entry so your system will not connect to a certain website modify
this file.Examples below.

127.0.0.1 www.abcsearch.com
127.0.0.1 abc517.net #[Trojan.Mitglieder.H]
127.0.0.1 acestats.com
127.0.0.1 www.acestats.com
127.0.0.1 actualnames.com #[Parasite.ActualNames][server down?]
127.0.0.1 www.actualnames.com

Now the computer will not connect to these 6 sites.
