Website and IE

Ok...I have no clue what is going on here - I have a website at
http://www.passionfortruth.com - we just sent out a e-newsletter and found
out that some computers none of the links are working??!!

I usually run Firefox - but I've also opened up IE and the links work fine
for me - however 2 people running xppro (which is also what I have) say that
the links do not work for them.

Can some of you check out this site and see if you are having trouble
getting the links to work - and if so, do you have any ideas why?

thanks so much

Step 1: validate your code. There are 40 HTML and 10 CSS validation
errors, some apparently arising from a poor understanding of HTML (e.g.
a CLASS tag is used, but there is no such thing as a CLASS tag: CLASS
is an attribute only.) I also note that you appear to have a DOCTYPE
which occupies 2 lines, and I suspect this will cause problems for IE6.

You also have a missing image file.

There is also questionable JavaScript.

The design starts falling apart when the font size grows a bit larger
than you expect.

I know......it's an old site that has been added to by so many people....and
unless I start from scratch ... well, one day I'll have to - the thing is
that up until today - all the menu links were working for everyone... I'd
love to turn this site over to a 'professional' ..... unfortunately the
expense would be prohibitive .. so I do the best I can.

I'll try the doctype and hopefully that might help - what do you mean about
the font size growing bigger?

thanks

I did the quick fix on the doctype line - but that didn't help - some people
are still not able to use the menu links ... do the menu links work for you?

Well, the links work for me with IE7. I have not tested IE5.01, 5.5, or
6.0. But there is a problem with the Home, Site Map, Blog, ... links:
if the page is not wide enough, some of these links are not visible
without scrolling.

Re your query about increasing the font size: just use one of the
browser's commands to increase the font size; when it is a bit too much,
the header/banner area starts falling apart.

Just a thought ; are the newsletters being seen as spam - if so ,
might be being blocked ?

What OS do you have? the people having problems with the links are all on xp
pro with IE 7 (and I have that also - but everything works for me) so have
no clue.

Well, on the font size, if I do the control + thing on any website it falls
apart and I can't click on any of the links - I have to go back down to the
original size before the links will be clickable - so I thought that was a
general thing.

The size of the page has been one of the things I have not been able to
figure out as well. I have it set up in a defineable table - and its
supposed to sit in the middle of the page with space on both sides - it
looks fine of course on my machine, but when looking at it on my husband's
15" laptop (my screen is 21") not only does it fill the screen - the
pictures are 'bigger' and almost stretched ... I must be missing something
on making it 'stay' in the table as well.

any help you can offer would be appreciated.

well, even if they would be seen as spam, it shouldn't block the menu links
on the actual website would it?

I also have XP Pro with IE 7. I have XP SP3 installed.

Without looking at the code in detail, my guess is that page elements
are being over-constrained, i.e. you have set absolute sizes instead of
letting the various page elements flow naturally. E.g. at some point
the code has "width=854", but it would be better to simply use 100%
(say) of the space available at that point. By specifying a width as
you do now, you guarantee that the site will have problems when the
browser window is narrower than you expect.
