When I try to see web videos a message comes up telling me I have to update
Windows Media Player. When I do that, another message comes up telling me I
cannot install it because I have a newer version already installed. It is a
dead end street...

Hi there bhburns,

Try going to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs
Click on Add/Remove Windows components.
Scroll down and uncheck the Windows Media Player checkbox.
Click on Next and follow the prompts.

Then, go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/mp10/default.aspx
Download Windows Media Player 10.
Run the install package.

Let me know if this works.

Best Regards,

~Will
