Web page background color

Recently, I found that, with IE6, I could not select my own choice of
background color for downloaded web pages. The trouble seems to be that the
control for overriding the web page background color definition (located at
Tools/Internet Options/Accessibility does not now function.

A search of the newsgroups revealed that others have encountered this
problem, and some attributed it to a recent Microsoft security patch
(Q832894) which I had recently installed.

I downloaded and installed this patch again, in the hope that it had been
modified, but this did not solve the problem. I then reinstalled IE6, but
this also produced no cure.

I would appreciate hearing if anyone can resolve this problem, or have had a
similar problem.

New to this group, so apologies if this topic has been covered before.

Check the other accessibility thing at start>settings>control
panel>accessibility.
