Web Page Addresses as In-Text Citations HELP!

Hello,
I am having (what has suddenly turned out to be) a serious problem with
Office 2007 – Word.
Like everyone else, I’ve gone back to school. I’m in the process of writing
a research paper and many of my citations are web pages (as my subject is not
really of much interest to anyone). As such, I have to use web page addresses
for the in-text citation. When I attempt to do this, as soon as the address
gets to the end of the line, it drops down the WHOLE ADDRESS to the head of
the next line. On top of that, it will take the last word of the sentence
along with it. I am sending you three examples below. Even in this small
space, you will see how the previous line is left BLANK at the point where
the citation is supposed to be. I have tried all manner of Back-spacing.
..
after construction of Navajo Dam across the San Juan
Riverâ€(http://www.americansouthwest.net/new_mexico/navajo_lake/state_park.html:
accessed July 3, 2009). “ The dam was built for flood control and to provide
irrigation water for farming project promised some 100 years
earlier…â€(http://www.newmexicotrout.org/documents/Riparian_20%Newsletter.pdf:
accessed July 3, 2009), so the Quality Waters were actually created by the
need for material to build Navaho Dam because it is an earth dam. Rather than
use concrete, dirt was used as the main material for construction. “The
current river bed of the San Juan was created by man and heavy equipment
…used to dig out the dirt from the original river bed for the earth damâ€
(#4). So it’s quite surprising to find out that “Prior to damming, the river
was murky and warm, and the river bed was mainly silt (unsuitable habitat for
trout)â€

Well, the 3rd one is a little more difficult to see.

I have tried:
Removing the Hyperlink
Typing the citation instead of Copy and Paste
Copying to Notepad to try and remove any format
Word>Word Options>Advanced>Cut, Copy, and Paste and set the 1st four options
to “Keep Text Onlyâ€
All to no avail. Have you seen or heard of this? Can you offer any
suggestions to allow my Word to perform, what would seem to me to be, a
fairly simple function?
All I’m trying to do is put a web page address in a paper without having it
completely mess up the paragraph.
I purchased my copy of Office from The Ultimate Steal.com as a special for
people with a .edu address.
Thank you,

I am having (what has suddenly turned out to be) a serious problem with

I'd suggest, then, that you post your question in a group supporting Word.
This group is for a different program, Microsoft Access. The webpage can be
confusing and probably misled you; scroll down the list of subject areas and
find one for Word.
