web hyperlink - open within presentation

I have no problem building hyperlinks, but (on this computer anyways), when I
click on the link in presentation mode, the window opens outside the
presentation - that is, I have to quit the presentation to click on the
button in the taskbar to be able to see the page I've linked to. It has
worked correctly on other computers, and I can't seem to find the preference
to change this. I'd appreciate any suggestions, especially as I'm showing
the presentation to my students tomorrow!

I don't know the answer to making the browser have focus and open in front
of the presentation. But you can use ALT+Tab to move to the browser without
having to close the presentation.
