Web FTP upload applet?

T

Terrence Chun, MD

Is there a small (Java?) web-based applet that would allow me to upload
files to my FTP directory? I often work at several different workstations
(both Mac and PC) and would like to be able to save my work to my FTP dir
or update info on the site from any of these stations, without having to
install dedicated FTP client software on those machines.

Thanks!

Internet Explorer full installation allows FTP upload to most sites.
Refer to Help in Internet Explorer and search for FTP.

Not a java app, but very small is WS-FTP.
Once installed you can just copy the
folder to any pc as everything needed is
contained in that folder.

Well, you could try http://www.web2ftp.com ... It works. Note that
the interface is in German, so you will want to copy-paste some of the
text into Babelfish to get a feel for what the different buttons do.
Other than the language barrier, web2ftp is a fairly full-featured FTP
client that can be accessed from any browser that supports forms.
Hope this helps!

You can also try http://www.unlimitedftp.ca/myftp
This service will also let you save all your favourite FTP connection
settings.
It also has an HTTP tunnling in case if your firewall at work blocks
FTP traffic. The basic use is free.
