I am running Win XP Home. Recently Prodigy took over my Home Page and
blocked any changes. I downloaded a Hack program and took care of that
problem, but in the meantime my Web Ferret program for searches is
completely blocked so it is unusuable. Please tell me how I can UnBlock the
program.

Thanks in advance for any help.

What does this: "Recently Prodigy took over my Home Page and blocked any
changes" actually mean? Are you saying that Prodigy is now your ISP and
you can't change the homepage? That seems very unlikely. It is far more
likely that either you have malware on the computer or you have an
antispyware program that is preventing anything from changing your
homepage such as Spybot or SpywareBlaster.

Here are general malware removal steps:

If the computer is really clean, then please post back with a
clarification of what you are really saying.

To try to make it clearer --- I have Prodigy "Infinitum" as an ISP. I
always use Yahoo for my Home Page until the other day I noticed that it had
been changed to www.prodigy.msn.com.mx and the availability to change it
to anything else was blanked-out along with my search engine Web Ferret -
making it necessary to use their Search. I downloaded a program from the
Internet which freed-up the Home Page so I could at least choose the Home
Page I want, but Web Ferret still remains blocked which makes the program
unuable. Needless to say I would like to do what I want and not what some
other entity decides I am going to do.

I don´t know how to make it any clearer. Please help.

That clarification was just fine, thanks. Well, I would change ISP's
quicker than a New York minute if I were you. That behavior is
reprehensible and you should let Prodigy know. How dare they do that!

I'm afraid you will need to call Prodigy tech support and contact Web
Ferret tech support. I have no idea how Web Ferret is coded and where
you'd change anything. The first call would definitely be to Prodigy.
Did you have to install any software from them? Perhaps there is an
option in there you haven't seen that will allow you to change the
default search.

Contact Prodigy for the fix. If no joy. Remvove it.
