WD120jb disk error

I installed a wd 120 , trying to disk copy all,including
OS, from C: . At 75% error mess. "reading drive 80 I/O
timeout, sector 1259960551, result = 1".I can't seem to
find BIOS manf., uninstalled 98, (Compq presario 7360),
after XP was in. Can XP be causing error, copying from C
to D, because of a copyright clause ? If so , how can it
be fixed. Drive d is partnd & formtd, accepting programs?

WD copy utility is ok,xp has protective software preven-
ting what youre trying to do.75% is about as far as i
also obtained, there probably is a trick, but the time
spent, and does everything eventually get copyied, is
worth the trouble,re-install xp.The file and transfer
wizard is nice, but the time it takes creating C:
files is another story.Try firmware.com for BIOS up-
grades,120 gb and above are typicall needs for one.
