WD MyBook Essential not recognized after hibernation

Hello!
I have a Western Digital MyBook Essential 250GB connected via USB. It works
fine, and when I am hibernating my computer, it also shuts down. When I am
restarting my computer from hibernation, the external harddisk also spins up,
but it won't be shown in device-manager, and I cannot access it. There is no
entry in Explorer either. It's just as it does not exist for Windows XP. When
I pull the USB-cable from the harddisk and reconnect it, Windows XP
recognizes the harddisk again.

I have Windows XP SP2 (German), and a Dell Dimension 8400.

Is this a general issue with USB-harddisks, or is it just the WD MyBook?

In DeviceManager, enlarge USB controllers, and on each and every USB root
hub, properties->power management, uncheck "Allow computer to shut down to
save energy"....

(Start->Run devmgmt.msc
