Yeah, my crunching's down bigtime too. Having to run on battery a lot so my kids can use the plug
Is $100+ each for new plugs & I need two so it'll be a long time comming
Gotta buy 'em new too.
The plug from my son's lappy the wire just wore through at the join with wear & tear from 2 kids & two comps & all the backing & forthing (& pulling out by the wire not the plug).
But the one from my daughter's comp actually exploded
she was at her Dad's at the time & I thought that it was just some random power surge...
However... a bit of research shows that this is a design flaw in the G3 & G4 ibooks.
& because the wear that causes it is on the inside & invisible until it breaks down (usually not quite so dramaticaly as ours but generally with sparks involved) means that I'll definitely have to buy new for the replacements.
Not impressed though.
Is a known design flaw.
& could set a house on fire if it happened at night etc.
yet those plugs have not been recalled (don't know the smiley code for the angry face sorry)
I ought to know better by now, but it still angers me when a company chooses profit over putting people's lives at risk.

I'm unplugging the comp at night now too sorry
