What is WBEM, something to do with Windows Management Instrumentation Tester

Never seen it before, but seem to put deletions in my Norton Trashcan every
few minutes

Can I get rid of it

Hi, Al.

WBEM is the acronym for Web-Based Enterprise Management.

Now I've told you more than I know, but see this page:
WMI: Introduction to Windows Management Instrumentation
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hwdev/driver/WMI/WMI-intro.mspx

which includes this paragraph:
"Name Changes for WMI and WBEM
"The Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) has taken ownership of
Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) and the associated marketing
initiative. This article clarifies the use of the WBEM and WMI acronyms in
the Windows operating system platforms."

I may have solved this, went to msconfig, and under services removed the
check mark from Windows Management Instrumentation.

How does that sound
