Way to default locate desktop icons on right side of XPpro screen?

Is there any setting or software that would make it possible to setup XPpro
for desktop icons to be located by default (on startup etc) on the right side
of the desktop screen instead of the left?

You can always move them there. They won't change when you restart. (At
least that is my experience, but I hardly ever restart - just hibernate)

Yup, just what he said. Right click on the desktop (though) and untick the
option to auto arrange icons under the arange icons section of that context
menu. Just an additional bit of info... You can align to grid (recommended
by me at least) and then move 'em about where ever you want 'em.
