Here's a real stretch...anybody out there know of freeware that will read a
WAV music file and output guitar chords? Possibly in combination with any
other freeware?

Thanks!

In order to do that, the program will have to analyze every note played
in the song. How do you tell a program only to analyze the Guitar and
not the keyboard? And how does it tell when a chord ends, is this note
the last of a chord or second last? I don't think you will have any luck
with it.

Which song is it that you are looking to find chords for?

BB...thanks for the reply. Notice above, the lines from my original post
that I left in this reply. I realize it's difficult...but certainly not
impossible. Besides, I'm not asking for chords from individual instruments
to be sorted out, rather for a set of chords that are a rough approximation
of the music. Conceptually, I know the process, but am not a programmer.

Incidentally, not looking for any one song, but have non-commercial
recordings of many that I'd like to transcribe chords.
