wav recording component ?

i need to record brief audio from within an app, primarily to wav files. i'm
looking for a .net component that can do that. can anyone recomend a control
that can do that?

That's very simple with some p/invoke. A VB6 sample can be found here
(must be converted to VB.NET before using it in VB.NET):
