Wav CODEC not recognised/loaded

Hi,
I am trying to play WAV files through sndrec32.exe that
were created using the Rhetorex WAV format.
However, the driver is not being recognised in Windows
2000 and I get the message that my hardware cannot play
files of teh current type.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve this
problem.
The rhetorex.acm file is in the System32 folder and I have
registry entries in the Driver32 and Drivers.Desc
locations.
