Watermarks and Graphics in PPT

I have created a watermark using Wordart in the Slide master and it works
fine with slides that contain text like bulleted lists. However, some of the
slides have pictures, graphics etc and they sit over the top of the watermark
making it invisible -even if I send the graphic to the back it doesn't work.
How can I get the watermark to display over the top of graphics

Anything on the slide master will sit behind anything on individual slides (text
in placeholders are a kind of exception, sort of, so let's ignore them for now)

On slides where the watermark is getting obscured, you'll need to go to the
slide master, select and copy the watermark, then go back to the slide and paste
the watermark onto it.

As long as you don't copy anything else to the clipboard, you can keep pasting
the watermark onto as many slides as need it; it shouldn't take long to get it
all fixed up.

Thanks Steve

That's the solution I got to as well --- and I have to say that its not very
elegant esp when you have lots of slides... something to consider in future
versions of PPT possibly

None of us here work for MS, so what WE consider as good ideas for future versions
hasn't much bearing on how things actually play out. <g>

Yeabbut, in PPT 2007, items from the master can indeed show on top of items
placed on the slide.

One obvious scenario is that this allows page numbers to show on top of a
full-slide picture now. In fact, we've also recently had someone complaining
in this group that they don't like this because when they "select all" and
move stuff around, their slide numbers are selected and moved, too. And I
can totally see their point. :)

It would be nice if there were a way to allow the master objects to appear
on top of the slide objects but "lock" them so they don't get selected
inadvertently. I think right now, the only real way is to use the selection
and visibility task pane to turn off the objects while editing and then turn
them back on again when you're finished. So we got the feature many users
asked for (allow master objects to appear on top of slide objects) but it
introduced some unwanted side effects, I think.

Just thought I'd toss this info into the mix.

Thanks ... I'll let you know when your back needs scratching too. <g>
