Watched threads in newsgroups not highlighted in red

A newsgroup where there is a watched thread does not get highlighted in red
when a new post arrives. I have to keep checking the newsgroup to see
whether the thread has new messages. This is unlike in XP where the name of
the newsgroup in the list became red. Is there any setting to change this?

Thanks

You may have to click on Tools, then Options, then Read, then change the
color after Highlight watched messages to red, then click on Apply and then
OK.

I have checked that and it is set to Red. It works on the actual messages
but the newsgroup name in the Folder list does not go Red when there are
unread watched postings but it does on my laptop with Windows XP and OE.

It is very inconsistent. I find it works sometimes and sometimes it does
not.

You are right. Your posting has just confirmed that - it resulted in
the newsgroup name going red this time
